Popular football website Goal reports that Tottenham Hotspur are set to unveil Investec as their cup shirt sponsor. We brought you news earlier that Tottenham were set to have two shirt sponsors this season: Autonomy for league matches, and a then-unknown sponsor for cup matches. Tottenham receives £20 million from Autonomy with an option of a £5 million increment depending on their success in the league.
The new deal with financial company Investec is worth £2.5 million per season for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. Goal states that the deal will be announced before Tuesday night, when the Spurs take on BSC Young Boys in the Champions League qualifier, and they will wear the shirts with the new logo on Tuesday night. This takes the total number of Spurs shirts for the 2010/11 season up to 6. Goal believes that the reported contract has clauses for the possibility that Tottenham fail to make it through to the group stage of the greatest club competition in Europe.
