AC Milan Football. Shirt
Alfred Jonathan Edwards, a British expatriate, set up AC Milan in 1899 as the Milan Cricket and Football Club. In accolade of its beginnings, the club has kept on the English language spelling of its city s name, or else of changing it to the Italian Milan. The team s current stadium is the 85,700 seater Giuseppe Meazza, which is also known as the San Siro. The arena is shared with Internazionale (Inter), the other major football club in Milan. AC Milan friends use "San Siro" to cite to the arena because Meazza was a star player for Inter Milan.
AC Milan represent their home games in shirts of red-and-black bands, giving them the soubriquet rossoneri ("red-blacks"). A few of the notable players to wear the shirt are ; Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, Luther Blissett, Paolo Di Canio, Roberto Baggio, Paolo Maldini, Ray Roy Wilkins, Jimmy Greaves and Jaap Stam.
Milan has won a mixture of European honors many on more one affair in the 60 s, 80 s 90 s and 00 s. The Italian League (Serie A) in the 50 s, 60, 70 s, 80, 90 s and 00 s and Italian cups in the 60 s, 70 s and now the 00 s.
